Andersen Windows, A Great Choice

Andersen windows are known for quality, and the craftsmanship is unmatched. It's true that there may be a lemon every now and then but I have never seen one.

Solid wood construction and vinyl cladding on the exterior are trademarks of the Andersen design. Beautiful wood on the inside gives you the option to stain, paint, or leave it natural with a coat of polyurethane or shellac The vinyl cladding on the outside is maintenance free and won't fade with age.

The Low-E glass cuts down on the UV light transmission by 83% based on Andersen window's literature. Fading of interior finishes is cut down dramatically. The replacement of carpets and other light sensitive products are greatly extended, wearing out will happen before they fade.

Andersen's new Low-E 4 glass reduces cleaning time. Water spots are reduced by 99% due to there proprietary glass coating.

Their warranty is unmatched with a full 20 year transferable warranty on the glass parts and 10 years on non glass related parts. It's NOT prorated, if during the warranty period a part fails the part is replaced with a new one with no extra material costs. Further increasing the retail value of your home.

Andersen windows are Energy Star rated which will help you save money and reduce your energy usage.

Let's get onto the window styles shall we.

  • The Double Hung Window
The double hung window is the old standby and is the most popular. The ability to tilt in the window for easy cleaning is a major plus.

  • Casement Window
The casement window is a window that rotates vertically and does not slide like a "hung" window. The benefits of this type is the ability to have the entire window area open to get fresh air.

  • Awning Windows
Awning windows have he hinge at the top of the window and it cranks out by way of a handle. An awning window has the benefit of keeping out the elements in the case of an unexpected rain storm.

  • Gliding Window
The gliding window is exactly what it says, it glides on a track. One sash glides past the other and these windows can be quite sizable if you like.

  • Transom
Also known as a picture window, it is a fixed window and are normally used to complement the double hung or casement windows.

  • Bay Window
A bay window extends from the wall to give much more window space, as well as a seating area or a place for plants. Operating windows provide airflow.

  • Skylights
Skylights will add much needed natural light to the interior, as well as reducing the need for electrically operated lights during the day. Furthermore reducing your energy bills.

  • Specialty Windows
Andersen's line of specialty windows are a great way to add an artistic touch to your home. Stationary windows in oval or other shapes that are not 90 deg angles.

  • Art Glass
Art glass is Anderson Window's way to add even more personality to your home. The Frank Lloyd Wright, Artisan, and Classic Series provide many different glass designs to keep in style with any theme. A must see.
