But glass is a materiel that will last forever in the kitchen environment, barring any accidents of course. The mass produced knobs are readily available while the handcrafted knobs may have a lengthy wait time.
If you buy the mass produced knobs you could possibly have a very popular style. Therefore it would not be unique. Everyone is trying to get unique details into their kitchens these days.

If you can't get an exact replacement you may need to change all of the knobs all over again, so having extra knobs is good insurance.
