Is A Pull Down Spice Rack Just What Your Kitchen Needs?

Pull down spice racks are a great way to add organization to the all too common spice storage problem. These racks are great for the shorter people out there as it helps to get the spices at eye level. These are also good for the cabinet area above the range.

What's so great about this style spice rack? Well, they are inexpensive, easy to install, store a good amount of spices, and they are durable.

The Rubbermaid Pull Down Rack costs around $25, so it won't break the bank, and because of the low price it's a great way to add more than one without taking out a loan. These racks are inexpensive because they are simple and made from inexpensive materials.

The Rubbermaid pull down racks are made from plastic coated wire. These racks are easy to clean, when need be, because of the plastic coating. The metal wire construction is also very durable and will ensure many years of service.

The simple three tiered pull down spice rack design allows for storage of up to 18 spice bottles, but these racks do not come with there own spice bottles. They are made to store the most common store bought spice bottles, of which you probably have quite a few already.

Installation is very easy with only 2-4 screws holding the spice rack base to the cabinet bottom. You could probably install this rack in 5-10 minutes and be on your way to a more organized kitchen.

These racks do take up quite a bit of room when folded into the cabinet. In my opinion a little too much room for the amount of spices they store. There are other options when it comes to pull down racks though.

Another option you may want to consider is a Tagco Spice Stack. These are much better when it comes to storing a lot of spices in a smaller area. This spice rack can store up to 27 of the large sized spice bottles, or 54 of the small containers.

These are priced at around $30 but hold more spices than the Rubbermaid system that holds up to 18. Where these two differ greatly is the material they are made from. The Tagco Spice Stack's material is plastic, while the Rubbermaid's is metal with the plastic coating.

The Tagco Spice Stack isn't a true pull down spice rack but the trays pull out from the tray and then fold down to access the spices. In my opinion this is a better spice storage solution, but these may not last as long as the ones made from metal.

It's a judgment call on which one would be better for you. It all depends on how often you use your spices, and how much room you have in your kitchen cabinets. The tiered rack takes up more space but will last longer, because of the metal construction. The Tagco stores more spices but is made from plastic and may not last as long. So it's a coin toss on which one would be best for you, because they both have high Amazon customer ratings.
